There has been so much chaos here lately! Absolutely everyone has an opinion, none of which appear to be based on anything but personal feelings!
Therefore, my question is “What on Gods’ green earth is going on?”
I do have to state one personal observation. The cry rooms at certain universities are still not sinking into my thinking. Are we really at the point in the United States that we have to coddle some students while others are so angry we pray they don’t set a city on fire? A cry room? Seriously? I know I’m just a country girl and we have to deal with hard stuff a lot but man up people! Wow!
There are “parts” of the voting population who decided they can bully their way into change through propagating fear into the hearts of the weak. Apparently, there are a lot of weak on our college campuses these days ready to crumble when they are told no to personal agendas. Then there are other “parts” who stoically stand, stating their ideas then refusing to budge.
The bully is loud, ranting on every news station who wants to help them achieve their cause. The stoic is ignored by the media and called bullies by the bullies. The majority stand by and decide who they are going to follow, the bully or the stoic. Unfortunately, the dog who barks the loudest gets the most attention. At our house, that can turn into a swift “kick” if warnings are not heeded soon enough.
Remember this, the one who complains the loudest about the fart in the car is usually the one who farted. The current complainers ARE the farters/bullies.
Somehow, the world has flipped. And I mean flipped out! The other day someone said to me, “Donald Trump is neither our solution nor our problem, he is our President.” Just like Obama and all the presidents before him, he is another link in the chain of our approaching destiny.
Because this is a Christian blog I will go that direction as expected. If you are reading this and Christianity is offensive to you, I invite you to stop reading here. I’m becoming stoic with anyone who wants to be a farting bully.
This year I took a challenge to read through the Bible again. As the elections drew near I found myself reading Jeremiah. For those who don’t know, Jeremiah is the account of Israel and Judah not following God’s directives. They were told to do what appeared to be wrong in the natural to them but was actually right. God’s directive required them to trust Him and they refused. Then punishment came for their refusal to listen to God through the warnings of His prophet, Jeremiah.
God doesn’t mess around with blatantly immoral, stubborn people. His grace is amazing! But eventually, as proven in this scripture, His grace will end in what is called consequences for ungodly actions.
Jeremiah 46:21 (ESV) “Fear not, O Jacob my servant, declares the Lord, for I am with you. I will make a full end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”
God promises in the Bible that He will not utterly destroy the entire earth all the way up to the tribulation. But He also promises to discipline with a just measure those who need to be punished for their actions. For instance, killing babies is simply not ok. The mother AND the child have rights. If the mother doesn’t want her child, then don’t kill it, give it to someone who does! Plain and simple to people with common sense, right? What pregnant woman full of hormones has common sense when she is feeling threatened or trapped? In none of my three pregnancies would I have ever said, I’m confident that I am at a good place for making hard choices.
How do I know the heartbreaking guilt that comes with abortion? I had one in 1983. The reality of NOT being able to undo the decision, my choice to choose myself over my child, haunted me for years. I eventually accepted that God, through Jesus Christ, forgave me. Then once I received help to forgive myself I was able to reconcile the entire tragic event. I named my son because he deserved to be named. I have given him a place to be memorialized and honored as a human being who once was on the face of this earth inside of my womb. He is my precious child whom I will see and hold someday in Heaven.
So what on God’s green earth is going on? Only God knows! Personally, I trust Him enough to follow Him even when it looks scary. And the bullies getting air time on TV are making this world look scarier every day.
