Thank You, Father, for drawing my attention to such a clear display of submission, as required by Your Word. I witnessed a couple looking for a seat at church. Running late, they entered the sanctuary and the husband confidently took the lead as he scanned the seats for an easily accessible, double vacancy. The wife gently touched his arm and pointed out a pair of seats that was obvious to her, me and most likely any woman standing nearby. However, she made no gesture of ridicule or persecution because of his oversight. She then gracefully stepped back to allow him room to lead her to the right choice
HMMMMM….??? Wow, Lord! I pray that you will bless that couple abundantly, if only because of the wife’s obedience! I also pray that You will help me to be gentle when I point out the obvious to my husband. Then remind me to take my position with grace, so he can have room to lead me and our family. Continue to show me how to help him from behind or beside and not run out ahead. Since I tend to do that, remind me that the only time I should go before my husband is to pray. Shut my mouth to words of condemnation and open my lips to encourage him and petition You. Thank You for a clear handbook to marriage, Lord. Forgive me when I blur the instructions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
